Eccentric-Who ME???

A lot of my friends have that "WOO" factor. They can talk to anyone. I on the other hand have to work at those skills on a daily basis. I've never really been a social person based on how I was raised. My father was never really social, yet my mother is a social butterfly, a trait I have often wished I had. Unfortunately I am a lot like my father in personality.
I remember a counselor once told me that I was eccentric in a text book sense. I blew that comment off because I always thought eccentric meant you had some sort of mental illness, didn't bathe on the regular and bought 60 of the same shirt...
I was of course wrong..

According to studies, there are fifteen distinctive characteristics that differentiate a healthy eccentric person from a regular person or someone who has a mental illness:
  • Nonconforming attitude
  • Creative
  • Intense curiosity
  • Idealistic
  • Happy obsession with a hobby or hobbies
  • Known very early in his or her childhood they were different from others
  • Highly intelligent
  • Opinionated and outspoken
  • Noncompetitive
  • Unusual living or eating habits
  • Not interested in the opinions or company of others regularly
  • Mischievous sense of humor
  • Single
  • Eldest or only child
  • Bad speller (usually uncommon)
I'm sooo going to end up locked in my bathroom with 80 cats...
