I Don't Understand!

Answering the phones for the conference in the past few years have been a challenge to say the least. I actually had a client call in regards to an e-mail I sent him. The e-mail indicated that he had not registered completely and that the reason why was because his credit card payment was rejected. He calls me to discuss this and reads me the e-mail. He says he doesn't understand. I explained that his payment just simply didn't go though. He says he thought he did it incorrectly the first time but he tried again,so he still doesn't understand. "Well, sometimes these things happen." I explain. "We need to just try it again, actually I'll do it for you and I'm sure that will take care of it." "I don't understand," he says. "I did it twice." "Well, it just didn't go through, so if I could get your payment information, I'll try it for you." I state. "I don't understand!" he says again. "You didn't pay yet." I tell him. "Oh,ok." he says and gives me his payment information.. What the ?????
